Ray H. "Slim" Leaman, 79, formerly of Paradise, died at Conestoga View on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. He was the husband of the late Joan M. (Herr) Leaman, who died in 2008.
Ray graduated from the former Paradise High School. He served in Germany in the US Army from 1956 until 1958, and transferred to the US Army National Guard. He was honorably discharged in 1960.
Ray drove truck for Ressler Feed Mill and later as a Line Foreman for PPL. Following retirement, he was a courier for Schenke Tool Company.
He attended St. John's United Methodist Church, Paradise. He enjoyed traveling to bowling tournaments.
Ray was a life member of Paradise-Leaman Place Fire Company. He served with the fire company for over 60 years and was very active with the fire company Bingo.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Clarence H. and Anna M. (Rohrer) Leaman. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Graham.
There will be a viewing from 9:30 until 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at St. John's United Methodist Church, Paradise. The funeral is 11:00 AM in the church with Pastor Eugene Errickson officiating. Private interment in Kinzer Mennonite Cemetery.
