02/20/2016 FIRE ACTIVITY 5 HERSHEY AVE PARADISE TOWNSHIP-Station 47. The Paradise Leaman Place Fire Company Had A Very Busy Week Starting On Valentine's Day. The Week Started On Early Sunday Morning With A Working Building Fire Assisting White Horse Fire Company And Strasburg Fire In Late Afternoon With A Working Dwelling Fire. Tuesday Came With 2 Calls As Well And The Fire Company Members Were Notified That Slim Leaman Has Passed Away. Wednesday Evening The Crews Started To Cleanup The Apparatus For Saturday's Funeral. Friday AM The Station Was Dispatched To Assist Station 41 On A Water Rescue. Friday Evening The Volunteers Gathered Once Again At The Station To Finish Cleaning Up The Apparatus And Prepare For The Wedding Dinner Served On Saturday When The Pagers Alerted Once Again For The Person Struck Call On Rt.30. The Personnel Finally Returned From The Call And Finished The Cleanup With Most Of The Volunteers Leaving The Station Past Midnight. Saturday Morning Volunteers Were Arriving At 4 AM To Start Working On The Menu For The Wedding Dinner. As The Morning Progressed Other Volunteers Coming In Putting The Finish Touches On The Apparatus For The Viewing And Funeral. 9 Am Bart Township Arrived To Standby While Station 47 Was Placed Out Of Service. The 47 Units Left The Station and Transferred To ST John Church For The Viewing And Services. After The Services The Apparatus And Personnel Went To Kinzer Mennonite Church Cemetery. Slim Will Not Be Forgotten By The Fire Company Members And The Family. Slim's Handiwork And Skills Are Seen Around The Station And Apparatus. As We Were Working On The Apparatus Cleanup Quite Often Comments Were Made That Slim Used This, Slim Did This Way, Slim Made This, Slim Got This Done & Etc. After Leaving Kinzer And Arriving Back To Paradise Some Of The Personnel Got Busy Assisting With The Wedding Dinner Fundraiser. Thanks To All Departments That Showed Support In Any Way This Week. Thanks To The Bart Township Fire Company (Station 51) For Standing By While We Were Out Of Service. Thanks To Gordonville And Gap Fire Companies For Flying The Flag At The Funeral Possession. Thanks To The Paradise Fire Company Personnel For your Continued Dedication, With Out You None Of This Would Have Been Possible! 02/19/2016 19:40:30 PERSON STRUCK-CLASS 1 3063 LINCOLN HWY E LEACOCK TOWNSHIP- Rescue 47. Chief 47, Rescue 47 Assistant 47-2) W/8, Ambulance 43-1, Engine 47-2 (Assistant 47-1) W/7, Squad 47-2 (Fire Police) Arrived Positioning For a Full Road Block And Met With State Police Determined That Route 30 Needs To Be Shut Down And Detoured For The 2nd Time For This Week. The Personnel Started Working With The Traffic On The Scene And Chief 47 Requested Mutual Aid Departments For Assistance From Stations 43, 45, 48, 5, 42, 62, 44. The Traffic Control Units Worked Hand In Hand For Multiple Hours Until PSP Did The Road Investigation. Thanks To All Personnel That Assisted In Any Way To help Us & PSP Operate Safely On The scene. The Units Cleared The Scene @ 23:07. 02/19/2016 11:44:10 VEHICLE ACCIDENT-ENTRAPMENT-1A 552 BEECHDALE RD UPPER LEACOCK TOWNSHIP-Boat 47 Assist Station 41. Station 41 Was Dispatched For A Vehicle In A Creek Requested A Boat For Precaution. Squad 47-1 (Assistant 47-2) W/ 5 Made The Response. The 47 Units Cleared The Scene @ 12:41.
