The Paradise Leaman Place Fire Company Will Sincerely Miss Jim And Louise Knosp Around The Station When Having Fundraisers and Activities. Jim & Louise Were Very Active At The Station Bringing The Enthusiasm With Them When They Were There.
James L. Knosp, age 75 of Paradise, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024 at his home. He was the husband of the late Louise Fry Knosp for nearly 53 years before her passing on May 23, 2024. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Karl and Marie Dyer Knosp.
Jim was a member of Saint John's United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee, on the greeting committee, and was known as the "Chicken Man" for cooking chicken for the church yard sales. He worked for PCA for 47 years before retiring where he often dressed as Santa for the company Christmas parties. He also worked for Cherry Crest Adventure Farm feeding the animals and as a parking attendant.
He was a life member of the Paradise Leaman Place Fire Company Station 47 and the Hempfield and Strasburg Sportsman Clubs. Jim loved hunting, fishing, serving his community and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are 2 sons; Jamie, husband of Tammy Worst Knosp of Ronks and Joshua, husband of Paula Harpster Knosp of Paradise, 4 grandchildren; Elyzabeth, wife of Jeremiah Stoltzfus, Missy, wife of Chad Dippner, Jillian, wife of Ryan Carpenter, and Jenae, companion of Samuel Beiler, 6 great-grandchildren; Ethan, Landon, Lilly, Waylon, Jack, and Jaxson, 4 brothers; Jere, husband of Mary Ellen Shoemaker Knosp of Manheim, Jay, husband of Robin Eshleman Knosp of Middletown, NY, Jeff, husband of Stephanie Rooney Knosp of Manheim, and Jon, husband of Carol Frankhouser Knosp of Ronks, and 2 step brothers; Robert Knosp and Karl, husband of Joan Knosp of. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joseph and Jack Knosp and a step sister, Barbara Knosp.
A funeral service will take place at St. John's United Methodist Church, 3001 Lincoln Highway East, Gordonville, on Monday, July 29th at 11 a.m. with a viewing time from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Milton Stoltzfus will be officiating. There will also be a viewing time at the church on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in the Hellers Cemetery.
